Went to see Abby Guinness perform some of her monologues from her book Word Of The Wives this evening at St John the Baptist church, Meopham.
If you get an opportunity to see her there at a future date or elsewhere on her travels then I would encourage you to do so.
She enjoys storytelling, as I suspect all good actors and actress do but Abby loves also to tell the Bible stories and does so in a fun way.
She usually tells them from the viewpoint of the wife of a character, thus bringing a new insight and a new life upon a previously flat character. However she does it often with humour and sometimes cleverly introduces a modern twist so characters will make reference to modern items or terms which they of course have no idea of their meaning or purpose. Brilliantly done.
Not only is Abby still doing the Wives tour but she is also currently appearing in a play called The God Particle branching out into acting with a partner again.
If the play comes our way I may just be tempted to pop along.
